Walked the white pine trail with my dog and a friend. very beautiful. Walked the cement path to the dam,, Awesome! Handicap fishing platform was impressive.
Great place to fish
This place is ware i go when i want to have a awesome day. I love the fishing here on the river. So much so i would be happy to take or meet anyone up there to teach the different ways to fish the river . And show them how many different spices of fish you can catch. I've wished for ever to live on that river!
This was a hike to see, but we kind of just ran into it. We had the baby and went down all those steps. It was fun but we didn't see how far we'd have climb to get back. There was closer parking so make sure to find the lot that is closest.
Both above and below the dam the fishing is good year round. Steelhead, Salmon, Walleye, and native trout are all available. There is a secondary parking lot which makes the walk down towards the fishing platform next to the dam easier. Expect crowds in the fall when the salmon run. Don't forget your license either, dnr regularly patrols the area making sure people are within catch limits. Don't forget to carry out your trash garbage cans are limited.
